Family Literacy

"Family literacy" involves the idea that members of a child's family are the child's first teachers and will continue to influence literacy development throughout childhood. Many schools are taking the initiative by offering family literacy programs to support students and their families.

Family Literacy: Developing a Program for Your Elementary School was written for parents and educators who are just beginning to explore the idea of family literacy or are ready to start a program. It's a research-based guide that's easy to understand and provides ideas that can be used in any elementary school. It's available on Amazon in ebook and paperback formats.
